Introduction to the Marketing Lyfe Podcast Ep. 133
Episode, one 33 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor Timothy, your host, and today guys, or me talking about messenger ads versus conversion based ads. Now, basically the big thing that I’m seeing across the board with these first off, you guys have to realize that they work and it doesn’t matter how you do it. It’s all about your followup, what works best for you. And what’s going to help you guys at the end, get more leads and more sales coming into your business. So it doesn’t matter if you’re running messenger ads or conversion based ads. The truth is there’s pros and cons to both. And that’s what we’re gonna talk about today. So let’s dive in.
Messenger Based Ads
So first off guys, I want to just talk about a little bit more about messenger based ads and some of the things that I’m seeing across the board with messenger based ads.
Cost Per Message is Cheaper
So the first thing is the cost per message can actually be cheaper. Um, a lot of times I see messenger ads out there and the cost per message is a lot less than the conversion based ads inside of Facebook. Now messenger ads as well can get you where the cost of message is a lot cheaper.
You can get tons, more leads coming in, but at the end of the day, you’re going to have to go through filter through them and continue to message follow up.
They Are Following Up With You
Um, the third thing, in my opinion, with a pro with a messenger based ad is the messenger ad. They are actually reaching out to you immediately. So you’re not having to follow up with them. They’re coming to you and they’re meeting up and following up with you.
Not a Ton of Work
Third thing is a lot of times these aren’t a ton of work. So messenger based ads, you have your, your page basically out there that you have, and then you’re driving messages to that page. And you’re following up with everyone. That’s hitting you up through the messenger.
So those are like four things that always stick out to me. As far as the messenger based ads go. Um, again, the cost per message can be cheaper. Um, the leads, a lot of times you have to work them a lot harder. And as far as the creation goes of them, that’s not a ton of work. And then those are the things I want to talk about with the messenger ads.
Conversion Based Ads
So the next one we’re going to be talking about is conversion based ads. So basically the conversion based ad, you’re sending them to a landing page. And then from the landing page, they are going over into like they’re going through a sales process and a funnel.
So basically conversion based ads. A lot of times they are a little bit more expensive. What I’ve seen, um, usually cost per lead. The varying on industry is higher than messenger ads.
You Have to Follow Up With Them
Um, the second thing about these ads is a lot of times you have to follow up with them via phone call or via text message to actually get them into your sales funnel.
Need Landing Page
And then the third thing, basically, you’re going to have to have a landing page. You’re going to have to follow up with them through email drips and things like that. And like I said, in the messenger ads, a lot of times you’re reaching out to they’re reaching out to you task you and inquire of your service or your business.
Example of Campaign Based Ads
So for all of the listeners out there, I’m on Facebook live right now. So basically you can, I’m going to show my screen of just some of the results that I’ve been able to produce. Just to kind of show you guys that I’m actually telling you guys the truth. So I’m going to show my screen here. So as you can see here, this first campaign to give you guys an idea, um, the cost per lead here is around $6 and this is in the real estate space.
I’ll be very general. I don’t want to give away my clients and all their information, but I just want to show you guys that this works. So basically we have real estate here. The cost per lead is $6 and 23 cents. That’s name, email, and phone number. That is a lead that is coming in and they’re inquiring about houses and things like that.
So basically, as you can see here, this month’s campaign $6 and 23 cents per lead last months, back in, sorry, not last month, but June, basically the cost per lead was $8. We have a very consistent history. If you can see on my screen here, that the cost per lead on average is probably around $7. And we spent a good chunk of money. We’ve spent around $82,000 on this particular account.
This Does Work!
So I’m showing you guys that this actually does work. This is a conversion based ad inside of Facebook. Now let me show you guys the messenger.
Example of Messenger Based Ads
So here’s a messenger ad campaign. Basically we are driving messages to pages inquiring about their services and this particular campaign, these guys are in the rehab space. So they help people go through drug addiction and things like that. And are, these are the cost per messages that we are getting. So cost per message. You can see here is less than the conversion based ads, but at the end of the day, what works for you? What works for your business?
