This is Taylor Timothy, your host. And today, guys, I want to talk about the role of the on line marketer. Like what is the job of his situation? What should he be focused on? And that’s what we’re going to talk about today. So let’s not waste any more time and dive right in. [inaudible]
Okay. Guys, the reason why I want to bring this up is because a marketer can only do so much for a business. And the truth is in my own opinion, the goal of the online marketer is actually to generate leads, meaning phone calls, lead fill like form fills and potentially engagement on social media at the bare minimum. Like that’s his, like if he should at least be doing that with the stuff he creates or produces. But the main goal is to get more leads and more sales for the business. If the online marketers not doing that, he’s not doing his job at all. That’s that’s not people kill me sometimes when they just focus on branding, branding, branding, branding, branding is important. Don’t get me wrong. But the goal is for branding is to get more sells and to help grow the business by getting it more cells and leads.
That is the purpose of all my marketing. And the reason why I bring this up is I’m going to share a little story with you guys. I have two stories to share today. The very first one I want to talk about is a company. I started working with a couple of years back and I started generating leads for them and they didn’t have a sales guy and the sales guy wasn’t there. And I kept saying, dude, why am I even here? You’re not fulfilling these leads. What is the point here? Guess what? He hires a sales guy. The sales guy comes on, hardly knows anything about the product starts falling over the leads. And the kid does 20,000 in his first month as a sales guy. So my point is, realize that follow up is so important. Now you generate the lead, but the follow-up is the business’s job.
The sales guy’s job, the office secretary’s job is to actually follow up with the lead. The second story, actually, I have three stories. The second story I’m going to talk about is a current client that I’m currently working with. And he has my opinion, one of the hardest products to actually market for online and it’s financial advising. How boring is that financial advising? But my systems work, they’ve proven themselves in the financial advising space. Guess what? This kid has some serious lead follow-up and he follows up with his leads. And guess what? He’s closing deals. He’s closing deals all the time now, because as he’s actually following up with the leads that are sent to him,
Third story, just to prove my point
Client roofing company, they are really good at what they do. I send them leads. They follow up with their leads, but come to find out they don’t follow up with how they could. In my own opinion, they’re closing 40% of the leads that are actually coming in, but come to find out, they’re not calling. They’re not emailing immediately. Once the lead comes in, just buy it just if they closed, you know, 10% more by following up a little bit better, they would have more business. Like that’s just the reality for 39% is the exact number. If they increase that to like 45%, 50%, then they would be doing so much better. So with this, all of this being said, the, the goal and purpose of the online marketer is to get the lead, get the phone call ringing, get the form coming in. And at the end of the day, it’s all about the sells guy, closing the deals I want.
Whoever is listening to this. If you’re an online marketer, say, hallelujah, if you’re a sales guy, realize that you just need leads and you need to close the deals because that’s your job. So I just wanted to preach this because a lot of times people have a disconnect between sales and marketing. What’s the difference. That is the difference people. So thanks guys for listening to this episode or watching over there. If you guys have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at localdma.com. Other than that guys hope.
