Episode 54 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor Timothy, your host. And today we’re going to be talking about how to get ideas for content creation. So I’ve been getting this question a lot lately from people. They don’t know how to go out there and get the ideas to get like this brighter of Bach. And they don’t know how to go out there and get those ideas for their youtube videos, for their blogs, for their podcasts, and everything else they’re creating. So let’s not waste any more time, dive right in.
How To Create The Content
So we’re gonna be talking about how to get those amazing ideas, guys. So first things first, you need to realize that this is not a hard process. A lot of people overthink this. Okay?
1. Google Or YouTube For Suggested Searches
So the first thing you guys are going to do is you’re going to go out there and you’re going to go on Google and you’re going to take a phrase or a search, a question, and you’re gonna start typing it into the URL or the search engine of Google. And what’s going to happen is Google is going to start giving you what are called suggested searches. So what’s going to happen there is now Google saying, look, these are other searches similar to what you’re searching are these, is this what you’re looking for?
So right then and there I will take all of those and I will take those and put them in my, in my content schedule because these are common searches that people are looking for around that search term. So go out there and just start searching. Start looking on youtube and Google, Google. Youtube does this as well. If you’re typing a search Sherman, it will pop up.
The second thing you can do with Google is you can actually press enter on that search and you can go scroll all the way to the bottom of that page and Google is now going to give you more suggested searches. So you can start going click happy. You can click and scroll and get more ideas and more ideas. This is one of the fastest and easy ways you guys can go out there and get the ideas for your content creation.
2. Common Questions Customers Ask
The next thing is talking about common questions your customers ask. So what am I doing on this podcast? On this podcast, I’m talking about a question that tons of people been asking me lately on how to create content for their business. So go out there, get all the common questions that customers are always asking you, and now go out and create a piece of content around this. So those are the tips and tricks for on how to create the content.
Rules of Thumb
But I want to talk about now some rules of thumb that I use when creating my content.
1. Content Is Solving Problems
So first rule of thumb is make sure your content is actually solving problems. A lot of times people create cool videos and things like that, but in my opinion, those days are over. People are looking for content that’s going to help them self improve, fix their problems, make their life better. So make sure you’re creating content that’s revolving around that.
2. Look Decent
Second thing is it needs to just look decent. So realize what I mean by that is you can shoot these videos on a phone if you want to. It’s, that’s not the problem. It doesn’t need to be professionally built, so just make sure it looks decent. You know, don’t have like a mess in your room all over the floor when you shoot this video. So just make sure you clean it up.
3. Good Audio And Lighting
Third thing is make sure you just have good audio. So realize again, you don’t need amazing audio equipment or anything like that. A lot of times the audio on your phone, again is good enough, good lighting, so you don’t need to go out and buy a lighting setup. Just don’t shoot your video in the dark in your basement. Go stand next to the window, look at the window and hold your phone up. That’s good lighting.
4. Just Create
The next thing is with the rule of thumb is just create guys. So I will tell you right now, just create, creating content is going to create more value for you even so the more content you create, I have found that people start to praise you for creating more content because what happens is now you’re showing that you are the expert or you are an expert in that specific industry. If you’re starting a new business and you post on Facebook that you’re starting, you’re starting a new business, and then six months later you post about it again. I promise you everyone in that six month window for got the, you actually have a business. So don’t make excuses, guys. Go out there, create content, go get those ideas and start producing.
