Episode 63 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor Timothy, your host. Guys. Today we’re gonna be talking about the importance of free. So I preached this a lot, lead magnets, free things. So let’s not waste any more time and dive right in.
So first things first with this episode, I need to give credit to my wife. So me and my wife were talking about free offers in the car the other day. I was just ranting and she was trying to wrap her head, her brain around the entire process.
Chips And Salsa Analogy
And the analogy that she came up with was incredible. So one of the things that we always do is we like to go and get Mexican food. So one of the things that the Mexican restaurants generally do, at least here in Utah, they always get bring you out free chips and salsa. So the thing is, is what’s funny is if the chips and salsa that we get generally isn’t that good or we’re not a huge fan of their chips and salsa, then a lot of times we actually don’t go back.
The Importance of Free
And so again, in comparison to online marketing here, basically if your lead magnets and those different types of things you’re releasing out to the public, out to your audiences. If they’re not that good, then what happens?They’re probably not going to come back.
So this goes back to the importance of free. Make sure the products and services that and your lead magnets that you’re offering to these people that are free are bringing lots of value to them. Because if they’re not and they feel like it’s spam and it’s not helping them achieve their end goal, then what happens is they’re not going to come back and you just wasted money on advertising. So again, the importance of free, make sure it’s awesome.
Different Lead Magnets and Remarketing To Audience
So I want to share a story as well. With the current client that I’m working with. Basically what we have done is we have nine different lead magnets going. So what we’ve found is like every single lead magnet, now what happens is they’re going to get another one and they’re going to get another one and another one. Because we have a remarketing going, we have the email sequences going, and what’s happening is a lot of these customers aren’t buying until they’ve downloaded like six of the lead magnets.
So again, what’s happening is like the chips and salsa analogy, we’re giving them a good lead magnet and they’re coming back, they’re getting another lead magnet and then they’re coming back and then they’re getting another lead magnet and they’re coming back and then they are turning into a customer. So I hope this helps you guys understand the importance of free and the importance of like releasing lead magnets and having lead magnets constantly coming out. So you can show that you guys are the best at what you guys do.
