Introduction to the Marketing Lyfe Podcast Ep. 81

Episode 81 of the marketing life podcast. This is to Timothy, your host today. Guys, we’re gonna be talking about my all time favorite thing that I personally don’t think it’s at. Its all time high yet, but it’s YouTube. So I went in and created a YouTube marking checklist. Hope you guys generate more leads yourselves. So let’s not waste anymore time and dive right in.

Okay guys, as far as YouTube goes, like I said, it has yet to at its all time high. I think it’s gonna catch up and I think it’s going to start producing better results than Facebook at some point. Right now with all the campaigns I’ve run, YouTube does not outperform as far as cost goes. So usually it’s like two or three times more expensive than the leads that I see over from Facebook. But I am a believer that you need to be running them on both channels, even if the cost per result is higher on YouTube because they all kind of feed each other.

Unique YouTube Cover and Icon

So anyways, diving into this checklist, the very first thing you need to make sure you have a custom YouTube cover and icon. So basically you just need to brand it according to like your Facebook page. Keep those very similar. And obviously those two things need to be reflecting your website.

Link Website and Social Media Accounts

The next thing you need to make sure you attach your website to your YouTube channel and all of your social media links. So you can actually add a spa in your channel where it links to your website and all of your social media accounts. A lot of times you can even put like an offer there, so like free download or something that actually clicks over to your website. So make sure you go in and add those links.

Link Channel Analytics and Google Paid Ads

The next thing you need to do is link your channel to analytics and Google paid ads. So the reason why you need to do this is an analytics. It’s going to be able to reflect the information that’s coming in from your channel to your site. And on top of that with Google paid ads, it’ll give you the ability to go in and create lists.

Be Dedicated

The next thing we need to talk about is straight up dedication. Are you guys ready to start growing your channel? So what you need to do is upload your videos and then after that, here comes the dedication. You need to be scheduling a video once a week. So if you are creating your channel and you want it to grow, you need to schedule a video once a week for the rest of your life.

Because what happens is when you stop, it’s like taking a snowball that’s rolling down a mountain and getting bigger and bigger and bigger. And if you stop that ball literally like explodes it seems like. So make sure that when you start your channel and you want to start growing it, make sure that you’re ready to be dedicated and post once a week.

Place Google Analytics Pixel

The next thing you needed to make sure that’s going on is just place your Google analytics pixel over on your website.

Remarket to Audiences

If you haven’t done that already, then from there you needed to go in and create remarketing audiences inside of your Google paid account because that’s what runs your YouTube ads.

Subscriptions to your Channel

And last but not least, you need to go ask all your friends and family to just to subscribe to your channel. So they might not be your loyal fans, but the more subscribers you have, it’s going to help people subscribe to your channel more likely.

Ranking in YouTube

The next thing we’re going to talk about guys with YouTube is the ranking.

How does it work?

So how YouTube rankings work, guys, this is not rocket science. It’s very simple on how to rank a YouTube video.

Create Descriptions For All Videos

So the first thing you need to do is create a description for all of your videos. Usually it’s around 300 words. That’s kind of the minimum, but I recommend trying to max out and until it says you can’t add any more texts in here,

Keyword Research For Your Title

the next thing you’re going to do is go out and do some keyword research and figure out the good title of how your title reflects. Also your video. So you’re going to optimize your title, your description, and your tags. So if you’re going after a spa that’s like how to do something, make sure that video talks about how to do something and make sure the title of the utility are doing is how to do that specific thing.

And then inside of your description as well, make sure you have that, that title as well. Now you can’t go in there and stuff. The keyword and scent can’t copy paste all the way through until all the text is up. That won’t work guys. So just go in there, type a nice description and so on and so forth. Little tip and trick. I transcribe my videos and I paste that inside of my description.

Create YouTube Cards

The next thing we’re gonna do is we’re going to go in and create YouTube cards, annotations and things like that. But the catch 22 is YouTube. Recently some more recently changed this, you have to have a thousand subscribers to actually do this. So once you get to that point, making, make sure that you’re creating YouTube cards for your videos.

Create Playlists for Specific Keywords

The next thing you’re going to do is create playlists for your specific keywords. So if you have specific keyword you’re going after and make sure you have playlists inside of your channel there, reflect that.

Share All Videos to Social Media Platforms

The next thing is you’re going to share all of your videos to your social media platforms. And that’s pretty much what you need to do to rank your videos.

YouTube Ads

The next thing we’re gonna do is we’re gonna talk about YouTube ads. So creating ads for YouTube and getting your videos out there through paid channels. So like we talked about in Google paid ads, and many times have we talked about Google paid ads.

Where Do You Want To Run Your Videos?

What you’re going to do is you’re gonna figure out where you want to run your videos. So you have in-stream ads and you need to decide what placements you’re going to take.

Remarketing Placements

So you have also place placements such as remarketing topics and interests. So when you guys go in there, you to decide how you want to do this. Now if you’re going to go after placements, make sure you have a campaign for placements.

If you’re wanting to do remarketing, make sure that campaign is very specific for remarketing. Make sure the next campaign is very specific for topics and interests. Don’t blend these together. I promise you guys, if you blend them, yes, you can still get results. But the truth behind everything is it’s going to produce better results if you have everything divided because then you can scale a lot easier.

Keyword Research

The next thing you need to do guys is keyword research. So if you want to go after keywords and run YouTube ads, uh, over keywords, basically you need to do your research on that and then run that as a placement as well.

Optimizing Placements

The next thing you need to do for placements such as optimizing and things like that, you need to search the first five pages of YouTube for placements. So what you’re going to do is you’re going to search on YouTube and you’re going to go find the videos that you want to run your ads on. So you’re going to go in, search the term and then basically you’re going to go figure out the top 10 videos there that you need to run your ads on.

Run Ads on Topics

Following that, if you decide to do topics, you can run ads on topics, but what I’ve found that sometimes topics and interests, they can kind of suck up your ad budget really quickly and they’re not very targeted. So if you got money to blow money to spend, run topic ads and run interest ads as well.

Summary

Now if you’re looking for actual results and conversions, if you are have a lot of traffic, I promise you guys through through remarketing, you can easily get leads and sells very quickly through remarketing if you already have a big audience that you have on your site. So set up your remarketing ads and see immediate results following that going create audiences as well. Go figure out who you need to run those ads on potentially down the road. And last but not least, make sure you’re tracking every single opt in that’s coming in and this is going to help your ads perform even better as well.
