Episode 87 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor, Timothy, your host. And today guys, when we talking about a Facebook ad change that I’m seeing under some metrics, so let’s not waste any more time and dive right in.
Learning Ad Set
Okay guys, the first thing I want to talk about with this new metric, if you guys haven’t seen it yet, it’s under the delivery. So basically now Facebook is telling you like, Oh, this ad set is learning. Um, like it’s learning right now, leave it running or whatever.
Warning Your Ads are Limited
And then I’ve gotten another one, it’s like a little yellow triangle and it says that basically it’s like learning is limited. Like it’s giving you a warning that your, your ads are, are limited. So the reason why I wanted to bring this up is because naturally we want to always listen to the Facebook platform. We want to listen to like what they’re telling us and that we need to make changes according to what their little popups saying and things like that.
Facebook Wants Your Money
But what I want you guys to remember is Facebook wants your money. Facebook wants you to spend money on their platforms. Facebook, Facebook wants you to spend more and more money because the more amount of money they get, the faster they grow and dah, dah, dah, dah, dah.
So the reason why I want to bring this up is I personally have found that Facebook is not always right. And a lot of times as a marketer, we need to be logical and think about our clients and our budgets and things like that. So what I’m, what I want to bring up today is if you ever get a yellow learning limited sign on your remarketing ads and you’re actually getting the results that you’re looking for, then let them go and ignore that yellow sign.
My Example of Remarketing Campaigns
So the reason why I bring that up is I’m running some remarketing campaigns right now and I’m getting the cost per result that I’m looking for. My delivery is getting up higher. I’m on some of my ad sets, I’m getting up around a four and a five even. But the thing is is they’re still producing results. So what am I going to do if they’re continuing to produce results?
I’m going to let them keep running. But Facebook, again, like I said, it’s giving me this little yellow warning that these ad sets are, are limited, you know, and that potentially naturally it’s, it’s telling me I need to increase my budget or my audience size or my or other settings. So they’re telling me I need to make some changes, but in my opinion I’m like, no, I’m going to let them keep running because they’re producing the results.
So just take that into consideration guys. If you’re running remarketing campaigns and you don’t have, you know, hundreds of thousands of people visiting your website, you’re probably to get this little yellow symbol and you just need to focus on the cost per result.
Learning Phase
The next thing I want to talk about is, the other one I’m seeing is it’s called the learning phase. So the learning phase, basically they’re telling you that you need, you know, you need certain things to happen on this thing and dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah. And again, how I look at it is don’t worry about what they’re saying there with the learning phase. Focus on my cost per result. So just focus on the angle. And kind of just ignore these metrics, take them into consideration, but all in all focus on the result.
